Using "Around '09" as a draft, I rearranged the composition and warped the perspective to truly express my childhood in the 2000s. References from pop culture, interior architecture from my different homes, and personal anecdotes all work together in creating a piece unique to my experiences while growing up as a black kid in Brooklyn during the 2000s.
