dead beets

30×66 in. acrylic, collage and charcoal on paper, 2019

This painting is a satire piece that responds to the trope "My dad went to the store x years ago and never came back". I used a super market named "Dead Beets" as the backdrop for this scene. The long line of fathers are waiting for their turn to checkout, which will never come.
