Throughout American history, the mistreatment of blacks have caused for multiple forms of rebellion, from Nat Turner's Rebellion, to the Civil Rights March, to the LA Riots, to the Black Lives Matter Movement. We've seen a resurgence of that defiance and activism with the recent protests and riots. Whether you agree with the riots or not, history shows all forms of rebellion makes a difference. Media propaganda and government corruption will not deter us from our initial goals of equality and justice. For that, this piece is dedicated to the liberation of slaves on Freedom Day.
